TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2024 SOUTH FRASER REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR
All events take place at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Project set-up is in the Gymnasium. This page will be updated in the fall in the run-up to the 2024 Fair.
| Tuesday 9 April 2024 | |
| 3:30 – 4:30 PM | Participants to set up project displays in the Gymnasium (Cedar Building) in preparation for the judging. Students can pre-order pizza for Wednesday 10 April. No admittance before 3:30 PM |
| 4:00 – 5:00 PM | Safety checks of projects – all students remain at their projects until safety checks are complete. Sign-up for Friday’s campus tours. Photos of participants with projects. Participants must remain with their projects until dismissed. |
| 5:00 PM | Welcome and special instructions followed by meal break. Participants make individual arrangements (information will be provided). |
| 5:30 – 8:30 PM | Judging. ONLY judges and project participants are to be in the Gymnasium during adjudication. Participants stay at their displays ready to discuss them with multiple judges. |
| 9:00 PM approx | Participant dismissal as authorised by the Chief Judge. Displays are to be left in the Gymnasium, but all valuables should be taken home. |
| Wednesday 10 April 2024 | |
| 1:00 – 1:30 PM | Additional adjudication of projects. Participants are to be at their project displays. With communicable disease safety protocols in place. Participants, please bring your own food and snacks and leave in your backpacks. No food is permitted in the exhibit hall, but you can eat out in the foyer. School visits. Student Choice Award judging |
| 1:30 – 2:15 PM | First Science Presentation First Campus Tour |
| 2:30 – 3:15 PM | Second Science Presentation Second Campus Tour |
| 3:30 – 4:30 PM | Public viewing of projects — students to remain at their projects and be ready to discuss them with visitors, friends, and families. |
| 4:30 – 5:30 PM | Pizza for sale. Order the day before on Tuesday 9 April at the fair on site. |
| 5:30 – 6:30 PM | Awards Ceremony. |
| 6:30 – 7:00 PM | Photos with Canada-Wide Science Fair winners. Take down of projects – all projects must be removed from the Gymnasium by 7:00 PM |
| 7:30 PM | Dismissal. Participants chosen to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair stay until 7:30 PM. |
South Fraser Regional Science Fair
